Ngui Jia Yang
Senior Vocal, Piano & Guitar Instructor | Stage Performer | Choir & Strings Conductor
Teacher Jia Yang is a passionate music educator, performer, and conductor with over a decade of experience in both teaching and performing. Classically trained in voice and piano, with guitar as his minor instrument during university, he brings a well-rounded and versatile musicianship to his lessons. His background in musical theatre, opera, and ensemble direction adds depth and artistry to his teaching approach.
He has worked with students of all ages and levels, and consistently organizes student recitals twice a year, guiding learners from the classroom to the concert stage. His teaching style is thoughtful, patient, and highly adaptable—he carefully tailors each lesson to suit the student’s strengths, goals, and pace of learning.
In 2025, Teacher Jia Yang was invited as the guest conductor for the 20th Anniversary Concert of the Pay Fong Youth Orchestra (PFYO), where he was also formerly the second president and student conductor. He also served as section leader in the National Taiwan University Chorus, strengthening his leadership and ensemble skills.
On stage, he has performed in opera productions with the Singapore Lyric Opera (Carmen) and the Kuala Lumpur City Opera (La Traviata, The Magic Flute), and appeared at major venues such as Istana Budaya, KLPAC, and the Esplanade Singapore.
Teacher Jia Yang believes that music is a lifelong companion. With proper guidance and a nurturing environment, anyone can grow their love for music and express themselves through it.
